Ok my car has been burning oil alot lately and I had a question. When I rev my car at a standstill to say 5000-6000 rpm and then I let the revs drop to like 3000 and then hit the gas pedal I get a loud nasty backfire from my exhaust. A bit of whitish smoke also comes out of the tailpipe when I do this. Anyone know what could be causing this or if this is at all normal? BTW I have a B16A2.

backfire due to lean condition or may too rich.
check out u'r plug....

 

Backfire Occurs due to unspent fuel exiting the exhausts ... do a compression test and a leakdown test ... you might need a rebuild ....

Have a look at your fuel pressure and regulator... Sounds like it's running a little rich with the puff of white smoke showing up.
