gsr smoking....whats new
Ok, so its a USDM GSR, pretty much stock except for I/H/E, In a ek hatch. I let my buddy drive it and I followed and noticed that it smoked pretty bad in the low RPM's but in VTEC it would stop..Most of my motors would smoke a bit in VTEC but nothing before? What do you guys think, rings, seals? maybe something stupid.
TIA, Matt

Yes. If you smell a great amount of fuel, it is running rich. Now you said it stopped in VTEC? Usually blue smoke would appear more during VTEC because of higher oil pressure. If its blowing some blue smoke at lower RPM's, good chance your rings are worn. Do a compression test on all four cylinders. If they show a low reading, do a wet test. A wet test is basically putting a tad bit of oil in the cylinder and doing a compression test that way. This test shows if your rings are bad. If they show a higher reading, you know the problem.
