is the b20a5 in the preludes an open or closed deck
hi i just wanted to know if the b20a5/a2 was an open or closed deck. and if its closed deck what is a amount of boost the block can handle. i dont care about rods or pistons i just want to know how much the block can handle. thanks
I dont know what engine you are referring to. I had a 91 2.0si which was a B20a3 and the 2.0 "5" was the B21a1. They are an open deck setup and I would imagine with that cam profile you should be able to run a conservative 6-8lbs and get good gains from it
I miss my 91 lude it was paid for
if it were me, I would pull the motor, port the head, install ARP main cap and rod bolts, head studs and put in larger injectors. if you are boostin, it would be a good time to rebuild the motor and drop in some forged pistons.

i have an 88 lx-i accord with an a20 in it. there is an b20a2 jdm engine swap that will slip right in with no problems. i can even use all but one motor mount. and the prelude b20a5 are the same motor but the only difference is that the prelude motor tilts back and the jdm accord b20a2 motor tilts forward in the bay. i was wondering how much boost the walls can handle. i was hopeing around 14 but guess not. thanks
