Default b20 help ...

Ok .. so Ive never built a b20vtec ... nor do I have much expierence with this swap .. so I have a few questions .. Ive heard people use the GSR head sometimes .. with all the rods, crank and pistons from a GSR .. but we dont wanna use b18c1 parts ... we would rather use b16a2 parts .. is the distance the pistons travels less on the head of a b16 ? ( thats what ive heard ) ? and isnt that better for the motor in the long run ... ?? and would we be able to use a GSR crank with b16 pistons and connecting rods .. ?? sorry if all this sounds stupid .. like I said .. we've never attempted this swap ... any help would be appreciated

you can use the B16 pistons and just put them on the B20 rods ( you will have to shave the rods 1mm or the pistons to fit the B16 pistons on the non-vtec rods. The b16 crank will not work with the B20 rods. Just use the B20 crank you will make more power with it.
Hope this helps with your build.

You cant use pr3's on a b20 block......81mm vs. 84mm
if you want more compressionn you need aftermarket pistons

so aftermarket pistons are the way to go for this build .. i assume a b16 ecu is gonna be needed ... but what about wiring harness? what harness should we use ... a b16 harness right ?

if you want more compression, aftermarket is the way to go.you fir the ecu, b16 spec timing and fuel programs are not going to cut it.You need to get your ecu chipped with a more agressive program ment for the b20/vtec; if not you gonna run lean.
harness b16 will do
