b20
i just droped of my 94 hb shell to get painted at my friends garage and he has a early 90's prelude that has a b20a5.
i was just woundering if its the right b20 block to use cuz i can get the car for like $300 and if so when i go turbo on my b18c1 would it be better to use that block or stay with the b18c1 block?
thanx for any help im just getting started in the b series world

Use the B18C1... If you are leaving the motor stock which i wouldn't then that motor has the lowest stock compression at 10.0:1... The JDM B18C aka Sir-G has the same compression as the USDM ITR at 10.6:1 but still holds the P72 cylinder head... and I don't think you would want to boost as much on the B18C JDM ITR with 11.1:1 compression... Get that B18C1, sleeve it to 83mm or so and o-ring the block, keep the C/R right at 10.0:1 with some forged slugs, put some rods in it... Send the head out to Portflow, Get a good turbo kit... The RevHard stage 2C kit will work fine.. Get a T3/T04E turbo if you don't wanna boost as much or a straigt T04 will go up to about 25lbs.... My friend's running a GSR with a similar setup.. The motor just got built and isn't even in his EK yet but he's gonna run a T04X^2... Just slap some 900cc injectors on there with Hondata and tune the **** out of it... My friend's daily driven GSR EK that was running the straight T04 was making 505whp on 22lbs.... Too bad the alternator belt snapped and got sucked into the compressor when it was on the dyno.... From there on it woudn't boost any more than 22lbs... oh well.. time for a new motor... Latez
