A buddy of mine has a 00 civic si and wants to put in a b18c5 complete with type r ecu, what would be the easiest swap for him - a 96-97 b18c5 or a 98-00 b18c5???

Think he's thinkin of ECU wise, he was hoping to use his existing harness, would the 96-97 need a jumper ?? and would the 98-00 just plug straight in???

soz for the silly questions just wana get the simple bits out of the way.
