Default b18c1 problem

Just bought a 90 teg with a 96 gsr with a obd2 to obd1 harness and a "chipped" p28.
My problem is fuel cut is at 7500. Vtec works fine at 4400. I'm looking at the ecu and the jumper harness wires, the knock sensor and iab is not hooked up, I know the p28 doesn't use these.
What could be the problem for the short fuel cut?
If I switch over to a obd1 p72 ill have to wire up the knock sensor, I'm using a type r IM so no iab, could that fix the problem?

nmy guess is that the fuel cut is built into the chip in the p28

also plz tell me how you are using a type r/ b16 intake mani on a gsr?

I just bought the car, I was told it was I haven't really looked into it yet, trying to figure out this issue first, I know the p73 IM won't fit a p72 head. It looks exactly like a p73 IM. Probably just a p73 knock off. EBay special maybe.

Is there a way to change the fuel cut off, like something I can do myself?
If I download crome pro.

I would like to find out what the problem is first, if it is the map then I'll get a new ecu and ya I've been looking into pherable.
When it hits 7500 and gets the fuel cut, the cel light comes on. And about a min later goes back off. I haven't been able to get a code yet.
90 Integra obd0 and obd2 gsr to obd1 chipped p28. I think I found the plug to jump to get the ecu to flash. There's 2, one with 4 pins and a cap covering the plug and then there's a 2 pins green and brown. I jumped that and nothing happened so I'm lost.

My bet would be the ecu was set up to cut out at 7500 considering your crl flashes.. They are set up as a shift light sometimes if im not mistaked..

Are you sure it's chipped? Stock p28 cuts off somewhere in that range. I had a problem with my p28 not reading the chip due to not being jumped. Stock tach? My stock tach was off by over 1000 rpms in the upper rpms. I tried to figure out the problem for a year before buying a autometer tach to find out it was reving to 8200 rpm and my stock tach was off

Ya that was the first thing I did,I opened it up and there it is sst. I don't know what kind of chip but it's in there.
So it's possible that the chip didn't work and I'm running off a eg map?
I used to have a eg hatch and I knew the stock p28 vtec was at 4400 and cut fuel at 7500.
I'll have to hook up another tech to cross reference. I didn't think of that.
Another thing I noticed today.
I was in the drive way not moving, in neutral, trying to get my cel to come back on at fuel cut and I noticed going passed 4400 that vtec was engaging. And yes im sure, there's a very distinctive sounds right at 4400, in neutral, stopped.

If I just get obd1 p72, hook up the knock sensor. I should be able to just use that right? I can get one for 100
Or would it be better and worth it to get a pherable ecu? Even tho my only mod are, basic. IM, cold air, headers & 3" exhaust.

Yep. I took my p28 out and am now running a p72 with same mods. It runs better than the chipped p28 that does work. I would buy a p72 for a bill in a heartbeat!!

You might take a look at DIY on how to chip a p28. There is a resistor that has to be installed for the ecu to bypass the stock map and read the ecu. You might try making sure the resistor is there.
