Default B18C1 Gasmilage

I know its been discussed before, but i did a search and found nothing. I'm getting 21.5 mpg in my hybrid hatch with a b18c1 with 116k miles on it.. What are the common causes of horrible gas milage? I know there is some sort of very easy fix to do that is supposed to make a huge difference.. but i can't remeber what it was.. Any help on this matter is much appriciated..
