B18b In EK Problems
Ok i have a 00 ex and i am doing a b18b swap in it but the problem i know i'll have will be the wiring because the block i am using is obd1 and the head is obd 2 also the wiring harness and ecu are both obd 1. so basically the question i have for you guys is should i just say the hell with it and buy a obd2 ecu and harness or try to "though it out"with the obd1 harness and ecu. btw what problems will i have running obd1 with a obd2 head?
All suggestions would be appreciated

1. you can't use an OBD1 engine harness in an EK because of its 2-piece design; you have to use an EK engine harness whenever swap is performed on EK civics because of their 1-piece engine harness design. So reuse your existing engine harness on the LS engine.
2. I would HIGHLY suggest to convert to OBD1 via jumper harness & OBD1 ecu, being that your LS block is OBD1 and doesn't have the required CKF sensor that all US OBD2 engine blocks have to satisfy a US OBD2 ecu.
3. You can keep the onboard OBD1 LS electronics (dizzy, alternator, & injectors), you'll just need to change your EK wire harness plugs to OBD1 plugs, or if you can, try and located a set of OBD2 B-series LS dizzy, alt., & injectors...doing this will make wiring virtually plug n' play (no need to repin anything to OBD1 spec). In fact, you can reuse your existing EX injectors on the LS engine (same psi rating), but not the dizzzy or alt. (you need B-series dizzy & alt).
You won't run into any problems running an OBD1 head on an OBD2 block.
