b18a1 missing/backfiring
I couldnt get my car to start after it sitting for awhile. Then finaly I sprayed some starting fluid in it and it stated but ran rough. Then I shut it down after running for a few minutes and it started back up without starting fluid.
Today, went to start it again and it would not until I used startig fluid. I checked the plugs and all were alittle black but #4 was black and wet with fuel. If I try driving the car, it pops, misses, backfires, jerks ect... above 2500rpms. Seems like it gets worse when it warms up to normal operating temperature. After I parked it, and kept it running, if you reved it, it will miss.
Its a b18a1 in a 91 civic si. The ecu is a obd1 p75 ecu, obd1 distributor but I am still running obd0 injectors resistor box. It has a egr thing still on the intake manifold which is not plugged in.

Ive done cap, rotor, coil, plugs, plug wires and its has no change. The engine light is on but, when I try to jump it get find out the codes, nothing happens. As soon as I start it, the light comes on. Shut it off, jump the wires, turn the car on, no engine light or flashing.
obd 0 injectors are different than obd1. but if you are using starter fluid to start the car than you are looking at a fuel issue. put a gauge on it and see if you are getting enough fuel pressure. Also try another obd1 ecu to see if you can pull codes.
I was thinking it was a fuel issue. Yea, I know ond0 are different but I still have the resistor box in it and as far as I know, they will work. I cant find another ls ecu local right now, ive already tryed looking. the plugs being completely black tells me too much fuel... could be wrong on that though. Ill get a fuel pressure guage tomorrow and check that.
