Default b18 build for boost opinions

hey guys... i know i am considered a newb i just hope i get better response over here compared to superhonda so "flame" if you must just trying to get some info.

to the point...i curently have a b18c hatch and i am starting to build another engine i just want to know how you guys feel about a b18b block bored .020 or .040 over, gsr crank, and b16 or gsr head. it will be built for boost. my concern is using the b18b block that i just purchased.. you think this will be a problem with a vtec head...should i just get a gsr block.

i have heard lsvtec is not as realiable but i dont really understand why if the oil lines are plummed all right with the golden eagle kit.

i want this to be really reliable(haha) but seriously and get over 300whp the block is getting block gaurds when i take it to get machined(hopefully this week if i can get some response on here). right now i am just working on the block and head waiting for the funds for the rest of the stuff

i guess shot me some opinions..or advisements..or suggestions.

i have a rather reputible person helping me with all this just figured i would throw it out for all you to analyze. thanks

if youre aiming for 300whp i'd look into to some darton mid sleeves...just a thought and keep it all vtec b18 if you already have one all together...Lubo's .02 cents...

I've seen many reliable ls/vtecs out there. If the block you have is in good shape, then go for it. As for the internals, I would, get the crank balanced and polished. Get forged internals, and as far as the block guard goes... that's is uncharted waters for me. Haven't heard any good or bad thins about them. I know you won't have a reliable motor with them if you want to push high hp, all the time. Just do what you are going to do, but do it well and thorough. Nothing like wasting time and $ on a build. Good luck!

haha...the block gaurd is in place.. your tellin me to work on my crank...MY CRANK... gsr cranks can handle 600hp i am not modifing the crank unless i go over 600 and i do not plan on that.

i am just woried about the ls block holdin up to boost whit a vtec head
