Default B16B conversion

Just bought an old (73) classic mini/Honda MiniTec conversion.
Car has B16B vtec which I assume is around a 98'-2000 model.
I heard that the B16B is kind of rare in the US, so was wondering if when
Ordering parts, if I can use parts from the B16A motor ?

Anyone here have a 16 B ?

Jack

some parts are interchangeable. what specific parts are you looking for? a b16b I guess could be called rare, as it came out of a civic type r, which was never available here.

I have a b16b in my Integra, most of the parts are interchangeable with the B18c5 engines out of a Integra Type R.

So, since I don't know exactly what year I have, I'd be better off asking for B18 stuff
Rather than B16 ?
I haven't even titled the car yet so can't even test drive it.
I can't trust the seller to tell me anything usefull since he lied quite a bit already.
First thing I noticed when the car was delivered was that it would only idle above 1200 rpm
The seller disconnected a vacuum port on the intake to make it idle, so I'm
Anticipating future problems because of other jury rigging he did. So wish me luck.

Just order the parts from a b18c5...same head, block, deck height is all the same. Thats what I do for my b16b.

If you want to know the year, look on the head for the production year stamp.

You mean 98. They didn't have a b16b in 1986.

Iirc, the difference is crank, rods, and pistons.

Everything else is the same as a b18c5.

And 96-98 itr cams only make like 2-3whp less than Ctr.
It's negligible IMO.
