ive seen that done with a gsr motor in a 93 hatch...a 2000+ lb hatch with an h22 running only 13.9 isnt impressive..sorry..car should be runnin low LOW 13s high 12s..with around 178-180hp and around 128-135lbs to the wheels..at that weight......ive seen it! and know it..

hmm i think a little thing called elevation has an effect on how fast of a time your running. lets see the gsr hatch run those times at 4,300 ft not at sea level. add another half to a full second and that would be about what it would run up here.
my 2 cents... two buddies with H22 hatch... stock he hit 13.5 and beat a mildy built all motor gsr coupe by about 3 cars... with ported head, jun 3 cams, lsd/re-geared tranny, and misc boltons... broke into mid/low 12's. took a brand new sti off the line, and pulled on every gear... like i said. it's all bout how much money you can/willing to spend, and what you're looking for.
on my next car i am going to do this swap. just because it would be so much fun to beat all the domestics. for like less than $6000, car and engine. h22 in a hatch would be so much fun to drive. i think we can all agree on that.
B16, B18, H22 blah blah blah ....... how much money do u rally have to spend...cause a H22 sap is not a plug and play, lots of hidden costs that can add up. I'm planning on doing a H22 soon but i have done it B4 so i know what I'm doing!
If you have very little cash then u can do a MINIME=your block with a y8head !
with the basic bolt ons and a SI tranny ( can be found cheap ) you can run low 15's high 14's ( i know cause I used to have that swap )
So figure out how much u really have to spend and then look at everything that u need for the swap not just the swap itself...... these are just my word of advise, i see ppl in jams all the time because they didn't look at the whole cost !
Good Luck man....here if u need any help !!

NSXMATT has a stock 2nd gen B16A with i/h/e in a 92 cx and runs 13.9 on street tires...
IMHO: Yes, h22a will almost always beat a b16 in same weight hatch, given both engines are tuned properly, however for price and ease of swap, b16 all the way!

buddy you can say whatever you want, but the truth is you like h22's, i dont....
if you like lots of torque, get yourself a v8....
and then again...."my buddy's h22 hatch run..."
For the money, b16 is the best choice
So your tellling me i got owned? hows that?

H22 isn't much more expensive than a B16 swap at all.
