Default B16a cold start troubles

On cold mornings if I haven't driven my car for a day, when i turn the key there is nothing. No cranking or anything. But after holding the key there for 3 to 4 seconds it cranks right over. What would be causing this??? Anyone whos experienced this or dealt with this problem please help. And i have done a seach to find nothing

do you mean there is no clicking or cranking or anything? this could your clutch pedal switch. sometimes they get a little worn out. i know mine does this sometimes, but if i pump the clutch in and out a tad while holding the key in the start position, the engine cranks over. try that and if that doesn't work, check the resistances in the switch. if they are within spec, i would guess it's your ignition switch, not the mechanical part, the electrical switch inside. this can be replaced rather easily.

Yeah there's no clicking or anything, not a noise. And with no messing of the clutch it just cranks right over 3 or 4 seconds later. And it only does this if the car has been sitting for longer than a day and only when its cold out. Could that still be the clutch switch or ignition switch??

sounds like an ignition switch problem, but i would check the obvious first.

would that be part of the main relay or is the ignition switch somewhere else?? Because i will just replace them too see if it helps.

look at the ignition switch first. i agree with sleepyEK that there might be an ignition problem.
