Issue with ignition or clutch switch maybe?
So lately my car's been doing this thing where when I push in the clutch and get ready to start it, it acts like the clutch isn't pushed in at all. Doesn't click, doesn't crank over, doesn't do anything. I usually have to let up on the clutch and push it back down a couple times and/or push the key to start a couple times before it will actually crank over, then everything's fine... starts up no problems. Also, I've had a similar issue in the past where the car would start then die like 5 seconds later.. all I had to do was start it again and it would run fine. I haven't had this happen for a while now, but it seems to have changed from that problem to this current one.
Other than the clutch switch, does anyone know what to check on this type of problem? It's not the battery or the battery terminal connections, if it was that it would make a "click" noise (which I've had happen to me in the past). It seems more like an issue with the ignition switch or with the switch on clutch lockout switch.
Any recalls that anyone is aware of for the ignition switches on 1995 honda civic EX coupes? Anyone else have this type of behavior happen to them? How did you resolve it?

there is a recall in some ek civics for ignition switch recalls , but not a 95. It sounds like the ignition switch though ( the first problem) the 2nd might be from persistant wear. I'll ask around at work though.

you neutral saftey switch might be taking a ****. or just check the ground on it. if the ground if loose, it will work intermittently(sp). it could be moving around and not making enough contact but after you push the clutch in a few times it just happens to fall in place. thats my guess. as to where you can find that, you got me. let me know how you make out.

Sounds like your ignition switch. If you have a large amount of weight on your keys such as key chains, over time the weight will wear out the switch. Very simple fix. They are non-trim specific and I'm almost possitive that they are non-year specific. HTH
