B16 torque specs... please read, need help
Quick question.. I have a B16 in my 90 rex...putting a CTR intake cam in, and I was wondering if you guys know the torque specs for the cam caps when I reinstall them. I searched, asked around, and so far, nothing. Anybody?
Well there are 14 bolts on each cam shaft holder.
The middle 10 have one torque spec. (Helm's numbers them beginning in the center, intake side for both intake and exhaust cams.) These are to be torqued to 22Nm or 16 lb-ft. They are supposed to be torqued in order though, the middle two, then the next two to the timing belt side, then the tranny side, then the next two towards the timing belt, and the next two towards the tranny side. The outermost bolts on each side of the cam shafts are torqued to 11Nm or 8 lb-ft again timing belt side first and tranny side second.
If you mean the cam cap meaning the little rubber cap on the end that is notorious for leaking on Hondas, I cannot find any torque specs on that. Let me know if I can help any more.
