Stock for stock, a B16A has more HP. So in the quarter mile, the B16A will be faster. However, the F22 will have ALOT more torque. So it will be better on the streets, and without the need to wind it out all the time. Of course, there are options for the F22A for increased power. The F22A VTEC motor is a capable motor in and of itself (if this is what you have). Also, H-series heads can be fitted on F-series bottom ends for even MORE power. The downside? F/H-series swaps are a good deal more difficult, and keeping such things as A/C are harder with an F-series motor.

A F22 has potential. It really depends on what you wanna do in the long run.

there is not F22A vtec motor. VTEC came with the F22b1 head. However, the F22A heads seem to have a slightly better design.

B16, the cylinder walls are pretty strong, it has a perfect rod/stroke ratio, and one of the best flowing heads. Why would he want more torque on the street...? I could understand for a drag car, where you would be using slicks to achieve traction, but alot of torque on a fwd car on the street = no traction. B16 all the way.
