Hey guys,
How do you install a new set/retaining ring on the intermediate shaft and cv properly without distorting it?
What snap ring pliers am i meant to be using. Ive already fu'##ed up two rings..

I don't understand why your snap ring pliers won't work. I'm guessing you need to open the ring to get it over the shaft.

Worst case, have the dealer do it for you. May be ask a local repair shop if they can do it.

 

Thank you very much for the help. Turned out i was just being an idiot. It's all in the technique . Used a flat head to work it on there gently from the end of the shaft not the groove.

I'm having issues as well. I am using a pair of Craftsman lock-ring
pliers. But all that seems to do is deform the lock rings. Managed to
get the set ring on (lighter gauge) and get it re-formed but the
thicker gauge stop ring on the outer joint side will not be reformed
once on. Took it off and reformed it but same thing happened
again. Can you explain your technique?
