the part number i have right now is 91205-PL3-A01 "OIL SEAL (35X56X8) (ARAI)" what does 'ARAI' mean? this is #6 in the picture

because the part listed below that one on majestic's site is 91216-PL3-005 "OIL SEAL (26X42X7) (NOK)" this is #7 but is not in the picture...

so should i order two of the 91205-PL3-A01 ?

should i also replace the set ring clip that goes on the end of the splines?

No. The left and right seals are different.

should i also replace the set ring clip that goes on the end of the splines?
Wouldn't hurt.

If you are replacing the outer shaft seal (#8) don't be surprised if it doesn't come out in one piece and shreds as your try to remove it. You might want to pick up a metal dental teeth cleaning tool to help pull it all out. I bought one at a flea market for $1 last week. Like anyone of these: http://www.pjtool.com/images/products/detail/3504C.jpg

thanks for not spoon feeding, ron

i found it. main problem i have with majestic is having to randomly guess which system/component category to choose when trying to find something:

#15 would be the right side axle seal 91206-PL3-A01 "OIL SEAL (35X62X8) (ARAI)"

so i need to order:
  • 91205-PL3-A01 left side axle seal
  • 91206-PL3-A01 right side axle seal

but i still don't understand what "OIL SEAL (26X42X7) (NOK)" is for

as for the set ring, those are both the same - shown as #9 in this picture:

so i need to order 2 of the 44319-SR1-003 (set rings)

That would be part #7 of the clutch housing side and would be the Input Shaft oil seal. It keeps oil from leaking into the flywheel housing area.

To replace it you must crack open the transmission case and you should go ahead and replace the Input Shaft Bearing too at the same time as they are known to wear the fastest of all the bearing and a known problem with Honda D series manual transmissions.

Oh and if you are not partial to majestic's web layout and design you can also use hondapartsnow.com as their format might be easier for you to navigate.

Looks like the OP has sorted out the key issues, and Tomcat answered the last question.

No one answered what ARAI or NOK means, but those are the OEM manufacturers for Honda. As for replacing the set ring, meh. Honda says to replace it and you can if you want, but the jury's out on it being mandatory.
