Default Axle Rebuild Questions

Has anyone rebuilt their own axles when the boots start falling apart? I know it will be a greasy job, and you need a band tool, but I'm having a hard time justifying giving my $600 honda oem axle in as a core return for a $120 reman.

$40 worth of Honda boot rebuild kits can take care of all 4 boots. Comes with bands and everything....

I rebuilt mine not to long ago. Mine were busted and spewing grease all over the place. You should be fine, go for it.

Cool. I guess another question would be how long do the rollers last if you replace the boot before it tears and contaminates the joint?

From what I'm reading, they could last a really long time 200,000mi+. More reason to be a little proactive and replace the boots before they fail...
