Axle install?
Both my CV boots are fucked, and at least one of my axles is bent. My power is being held back my my misalignment and I never even scratch 2nd gear anymore. My **** is messed up bad. So anyway, I have to get two new axles, CV joints and everything. Would it be hard to install them myself? Do they need special machining? I'd rather spare myself the $300 in labor fees and do it myself.. is it hard? Anyone have an URL to a tutorial? I would appreciate it a lot.
well its not hard to do it. try getting a haynes manual and they should take you step by step. becareful when trying to loosen the lower ball joint and tie rod ends cause they break easily when they are old and you would have another probem to worry about! to avoid this situation use a ball joint and tie rod clamp.
What kind of car you got? Axles are really easy, $300 is a waste. You can do them without seperating ball joints too. Those are a pain, but you wont have to worry about them. All you need is tools.
