it just depends. on what you have to do. just taking it out?? i can pull my b16a in an hour or less. i usally **** around with other **** though. it just really depends some times it goes faster than others. last motor i did by myself with no help and had to pull the first motor and pull everything off it and put it on the new motor and had it back in and running in about 5 hours. and thats not working just on that i kept doing other stuff.

hahaha ohhh man man man. When i pulled my first i had my uncle to guide me, and i couldn't do anything without him, so it took me a week, and i wanted my car back up and running in 2 weeks, didn't happen. If you guys are up for the task and are looking forward to it i'd say a day. Hmm, even with 3 guuy if you've got 1 under the car, and the other two on either side of the car you could probably do it in half a day.

now? i can do it with only 1 other person in 3-4 hours if we really bust our asses with our tools all at hand. rip and strip is easy.

just dont ask us to get the motor back in any time soon

doing it with correctly labeling everything and being truly organized, it adds about an hour to the job.

my first motor pull resulted in 2 days of cussing and swearing, and having to replace a quarter panel on the car from when i kicked it out of frustration.

It usually takes me 5-8 hours to swap an engine by myself.

I pulled an SR20DE today, took me about an hour to get out. Depends on who does it, how much they know, and what kind of tools you have. I had a hydraulic hoist, cherry picker, transmission jack, snap-on tools, air compressor, pneumatic tools, and all the good stuff. If you're doing a driveway job and know what you're doing, then probably around 2-4 hours.

2 hours for me and a friend. vaccumm hoses removed ect...
and its all because of troublesome bolts...the axle nut is easy.
the ball joint was a bitch and bitch pin was a bitch. one ******* wire harness was lodged in pretty good....had a tug a war contest there.

theres always those little things that stop u from moving on....thats the time where u smoke your cigarette and drink your beer.

Never pulled an engine before mine and we got the engine out in a day. I highly recommend taking the tranny out to. We did it a little easier, since I was gonna replace the CV joints anyways, I just cut the inside boots and so the CV joints would come apart. We also spent along time chiseling (yes chiseling) the passenger side CV axel nut off, since it did not want to come off.

After that it took about 2 days to finally get everything back in and ready to go.

Just make sure you take off all the connections from the engine to the car, take off all the accesories, like alternator, ac compressor, and powersteering pump. Take off the header (dont just unbolt it from the block).

Oh ya and own a Helms or Haynes at least

First time ever when I was 15.... I just knew the basics and it took 2 hours to pull a single cam out of my friend's EG with no manuals... I just undid what looked right and it turned out to be RIGHT ... Now it takes 45 mins with hand tools... Get a few people and know what you have to do... That's about it... I think the fastest I've done it, with the help of a couple friends is about 30 mins... Not, bad but there is no reason to rush... Take your time and check to make sure you have everything undone before you drop or pull the motor... Peace

i did my first swap last month. The only friend i had to help was Helms. It took me about 8 hours to get it out all by myself. Most of that time was spent on the damn ball joints. Other then that it was a lot easier then i ever thought

don't be retarded and pop the joints apart in the axles buy a manual it'll tell you how to pop the axles out in one piece
