automatic transmission question...important
hey, this is for my boss:
eg coupe. automatic transmission. when accelerating normally the transmission might get stuck at like 4000rpms or so. if you continue to lightly give it gas it will fall back into gear. sometimes it won't. sometimes you have to pull over, put it in park and then it goes back to normal. i've been suggested to test the torque converter through a stall test which i will do this afternoon. i'll also check the fluid level. any other suggestions?
thx guys

What do you mean by stuck at 4000 RPM? It wont go any higher? It wont go lower either? When at 4000 if you give it throttle it feels like it's in neutral?
If it's the last thing it could be that the fluid went low/bad and you melted your clutch packs. If you're going to rebuild the tranny, get the TCI master rebuild kit. Costs the same as a normal rebuild kit, but increases performance and will make the trans last forever.
