Automatic to Manual Conversion Question
Ok i blew my motor on my 97
i ordered a used motor but its a 99 d series, 99 engine wire harness won't work with my 97, nor will the 99 ecu, so i'm having the guy put my automatic wire harness in and the 97 ecu.
The Ecu is an automatic though. my question is what will the car do if i try to drive it for a few days like this? A friend of mine lives in baltimore, has a 96-98 manual wire harness and ecu.. Would the car start and run enough for me to get to baltimore to swap this stuff around? Will the car not start or anything cause its reading it in park or anything? If i only plug in 3 of the plugs(since on a manual it only has a 3 plug connecter to ecu) will it work fine for a few days?
