Default Automatic B16A or ZC engine. Is it possible??

I know alot of people are going to say, "Why would you want an auto? Standard is better because you get a feel for the car". Well I know how to drive both and own a standard 2001 VW Golf GTi GLX VR6. I have a bad injury in my wrist with pinched nerves and driving standard becomes extemely uncomfortable after about 15 min of driving.

Now that that is explained. I have a 1988 Honda CRX and i was wondering if I got a B16A or ZC engine would it be possible to get an automatic tranny for it. I have looked around on the net and talked to people and they dont know. Any help would be greatly appriciated.

Thanks

.....why of course it's possible. All you need to do is locate an AUTO tranny and ECU for a 89-91 B16A or ZC engine. I've seen them, but they're not super common. Try your local engine importer and see if they have an auto tranny for whichever engine you go with.

For a B16A auto, you can use a US 90-93 AUTO integra tranny. and for the ZC you can use a US 88-91 AUTO transmission.

Well I already have a 1988 Honda CRX auto tranny in my CRX right now. I was going to buy a ZC from B.C. (British Columbia) and he said that the tranny wouuldnt work. So did he lie to me or what?

Is B18C1 auto possible for a 3rd gen LS? I know they made automatic GSR's in Japan.

say..you gotta bigger version of your avartar?

yes it's possible to put together an AUTO B18C1, you just need to locate a JDM B-series auto transmission for your B18C1, or I think there's a US AUTO 94+ LS tranny available......i forgot if the US has auto 94+ LS's..

oh ok..then all you need to do is transfer your CRX's flywheel over to the ZC and bolt up your CRX tranny.....its that easy.

You may have some issues getting the a/t from a 2nd gen integra. In the USDM integra the A/T is controlled by a separate computer. The electronic system consists of the Transmission Control Module, sensors and lockup solenoid valves. This computer is located under the drivers side dash behind the fender area. Has its own light to read error codes and evreything. My educated gess is that the trans. wont shift without this hardware, the ECU is not enough. I suspect that there are only very minor differences in ECU's for the auto and manual B16. If you need more information, there is a .pdf file I can send you from the shop manual which describes the system on the integra.
