Default Need help with Tokiko Blue quality

I purchased a set of Tokiko Blues (supposed to be only 3 months old) for my CRX at a great price. Pulled my stock CRX struts off to compare to the new ones. The stock struts feel stiffer than the Blues when opening and colapsing them by hand. Shouldn't the Blues be stiffer? Did I buy junk or do they act different when installed?

its possible that road grime in the shock rod might be the culprit
