Automatic to 5spd???????
I've got a 91 Acura integra automatic. I want to change it to 5spd. i was wondering what tranny mount i should use? Do I have to use a custom mount? if so, Who has one? Input from people who have done this swap is needed.

I've never done the sawp, but I will go out on a limb and say that you will need the 5-speed tranny mount. You will also need the pedal assembly (you're gonna need a clutch pedal!), clutch cable, and MAYBE axles (cant say for sure about that, double check the parts #'s with your Acura dealer)..you also may want ot get a 5-speed ECU, but I dont know for sure if you will need it. I hope this helps! Later!

I did the swap on my civic. But it should be similar for a teg. You'll need the following parts:
ECU
Manual Trans.
Shift linkage
Shifter
Shiftboot
master cylinder
slave cylinder
clutch resorvoir
clutch lines
flywheel
flywheel cover
manual trans. mounts
if you want you could get a manual guage cluster
clutch pedal
brake pedal
what you should do is go to your acura dealer and ask them for a print out of the diagrams for the master/slave cylinder, pedal assy., and shift linkage because you will need to buy a bunch of brackets and nuts and bolts. Keep the diagrams and give it to whoever is doing the install. Good luck

Re: Automatic to 5spd??????? (:honda: )
I did the swap too on my older (rip) '93 civic dx. Should be pretty close, you'll need the tranny (cable) for your car (and a new clutch), flywheel, the shift linkage/shifter with it, clutch cables, pedal assembly, cut a hole under the auto shifter 4 the shifter, and I think you modify the upper tranny mount (I did) and use the 5-speed mount, you'll also need (I think) the 5-speed axles, also disable the automatic computer (blue box in civics) and replace the computer you have with a 5-speed integra ecu (90-93). Also remove the main part of the auto-shifter, but keep the part that plugs into the harness, then run 2 lines from the reverse sensor on the tranny to the [R] shift position (think its 2 yellow wires, check the schematics) on the old auto-box and you'll have reverse lights. Baam, you'll be str8 for the swap. Not impossible, jus a slight pain. L8R.

Re: Automatic to 5spd??????? (sol-man)
why would you have to swap in a different axle for the swap? i dont get it... never heard of that before
when you take out the auto tranny, are any parts of the original tranny used w/ the 5-speed tranny, or is the complete automatic tranny taken out all at once?
im accumulating parts for my swap too....

Re: Automatic to 5spd??????? (kikkoboyie)
I did the tranny swap on my '90 integra GS. The only manual tranny Mount I used was the passenger side one (kept the auto front and rear mounts)...It did work, but I do think that there is currently something wrong with the setup as there is definate vibration and clunking after the car has been started a while (has been on blocks the last 5 months as it's no longer street legal - it's being turned into a race car...slowly). I have heard that there needs to be some sort of fabrication for a proper rear mount on the G2 but I wouldn't know what it should be.
As for the CV shafts, they are the same for auto or manual - the only difference is the intermediate shaft, you will need one for a manual integra.

The swap cost me $2500 for parts and labor. All my parts were new except the tranny and flywheel. Checkout Sohfast.com they sell alot of civic parts for cheap.
