Are you just looking to convert it to a manual or are you looking to get it chipped? Check Xenocron and or pheareable.net. Getting it done proffessionally might be better off

To convert it is EASY, just cut the resistor label RP17 out of the ECU carefully with a pair of snips, and that will eliminate your code.

No need to ship out for an Auto/Manual conversion...

Ya I think ur right, jus was lookin on another site and it was telling me to remove the rp18 and replace with a "jumper". He jus used a piece of copper wire and soldered it into place. Any reason for this?

If rp18 is already jumped with a resistor then you dont have to worry about it. Just cut rp17 and you'll be set.

okay so i came home today and cut out the rp17. i turned car car on and now i have a full time check engine light. I haven't driven it because of not being sure. Is this normal? mind you there is 2 tiny prongs still soldered in i jus removed the resistor. do i need to completely make holes on either side?

Just make sure there is no connection between the two holes. Has this ecu ever been messed with?

i couldnt tell you for sure. if it makes any difference im running a b16a in my 91 ef civic, this comp is part of my whole obd0 to obd1 conversion. also im using a jumper harness. only code it ran before i cut the resistor was 19. btw i just drove it around and it actually seems a lil stronger and more responsive than before.. little confused as you can tell haha

You have to pull both RP17 and RP18 and replace RP18 with a 0 Ohm resistor (jumper wire). I do chipping and auto to manual for $55 shipped for both.

I never jumped mine since rp18 was already connected. I converted it from an auto to manual. Cut rp17 and chipped it. No Cel whatsoever. If it was a po6 then yes you would have to jump rp18 to convert it from an auto to manual.

Its funny cause I just left the rp18 alone after cutting out rp17. Works like it should. Maybe I got crazy lucky

Does the mapping of the auto ecu affect the car? I just recently swapped to manual trans and used the auto P28 ecu. cut both rp17 and 18 then did the jump on rp18. I noticed the rpm is kinda sluggish and too slow revving up. Whats seem to be the problem?

Thanks!

^^agreed. I haven't taken mine in or sent it to get fixed yet but I'm jus throwing constant cel light still. One solid. But ur right about it being sluggish, I mean I can take it to 8k and it feels real strong but I kno there is more. Maybe ur right about the maping?
