Default Attention welders

I have a mig welder. Its a Esab compact 200. Its about 15yrs old. It worked great up untill a little while ago.

It birdsnests all the time, like i can even weld anymore. I replaced the liner yesterday it worked good for about a few hours of welding now its doing the same crap i dont know why.

The wire is kinda old (4mths) and has been exposed to a good amount of condensation.

Anyone have any ideas for what parts need to be replaced?

I was told a piece of felt would help if i closepegged it to the incomming wire to help clean the crap off

Thanks!

old wire should not affect anything
i use really old wire all of the time

it sounds to me that your frequency controller is taking a crap on you
i just recently had mine go bad on my Miller MIG 215

also did you spray anything on the wire to 'prevent' it from rusting

nope nothing on the wire.

Im thinking i need a whole new cord and hang gun and all that ****.

Welder is awesome i can weld anything from 1" plate to 22 guage sheet metal. And all sizes of aluminum. It also has a spot weld function i barley use.
