i just put in a metal ats diff i bought of someone done only 500k's with no run in.
i ran it in on FUCHS total 80-90 GL5 (used in ALOT of ATS diffs in new zealand cause we don't get the ATS oil over here) by doing figure 8's in a car park for 30 mins.
after that it was really good on the road. (i think cause the oil got so hot it was no longer locking up as good)
I put fresh oil in and now its good when the car is cold, and once the car gets up to temp (and the gearbox oil) it gets VERY clunky
like 40k's around a small bend it goes "knock konck" and wants to understeer.
its VERY VERY aggressive, at intersections it binds up and bogs the motor down the car lifts up and lets go again. "BANG BANG BANG CLUNK" as it lets go
any one with a ATS can comment here?
also i had near new toyo RA1's semi slicks on the front for run in. now the drivers side is nearly bald and passenger side is half worn from 30 mins of 30kmh figure 8's on concrete.
MASSIVE un even tyre wear, like the drivers side is doing all the work?
any comments welcome

Sounds to me like you are going to want to switch to a better fluid..... I run a Kazz diff and it kinda did something like that.. I changed to lucus gear oil.. with some Kazz additive.. and it worked wounders..
Sounds like you need an additive.
