Default assembly lube?

can someone tell me a specific brand or something? i went to pep boys and all they could do was point me to was the gear oil

Actually some people use gear oil because it is so thick that it clings to the bearings until you get your oil pressure at the first start-up. I use something called Moly Assy Lube. Its like a black paste. Turns your oil black the first time. I like to spray WD-40 on the cyl. walls at the first start as it is so thin that it helps seat the rings quicker.

assembly lube for what? like for installing cams? go to a honda dealer...some techs call it pre lube as well

Clevite has a product called Bearing Guard. It's real thick and sticks like honey. Good ****.

i use the no-smoke treatment the sell at the parts store. motor-honey, bardahl's no-smoke, its all the same. its sold in a clear bottle and looks like honey. extra thick oil that clings to the bearings etc and protects during the first start up
