Article: Hellflush ruining the tunning scene?
No, no they haven't. I do not see any low riders with a retarted offset wheel and stretched to the max tires, and rolling there fenders. I've even seen people cut a notch out of there strut tower so there camber kit would work. Dumbest thing ever.
I have. I lived in Arizona for quite sometime. Stretched tires. Small *** wheels. Ridiculous offsets. Even a few cambered wheels. Some of them were the OPPOSITE of flush. The wheels stuck out past the fenders maybe an inch or two.
Haha well when I think lowrider I think of cheech and chong style s10's or rat rods. And 10" thousand spokers with baby tires slightly stretched. The only things like that around my way are slammed blazers/s10's or colorado's on 20's/22's on rubberband tires.
I saw a Scion TC last week at the local car meet. It was stanced but super clean and neat. The wheels were gorgeous, in fact everything was gorgeous. I noticed it was turboed and thats what made me come over to speak to the guy. He was really cool and we talked for a bit about his car. I asked how much power it made and how quick it was and I was impressed by the figures. I somehow managed to leave at the same time as him, thinking, "cool maybe we'll line up on the highway",... NO! He was going 18mph on the on ramp and slow as f*ck on the highway.. sparks coming off his exhuast on larger dips in the pavement. I almost felt sorry for him, knowing he would never enjoy his car just because he wants to show up people with his stance and flushness. Now IMO that is what the car world is coming to. Who can be the bigger show off, and say they have this and that. But they have a car they cant enjoy nor can it do the things it had the potential for.
I personally prefer building a car up rather than showing it off or tracking it. I have zero interest in tracking a car.
VWs being crap is just like, you're opinion, man.
How was I quoting a video? And no I'm not mad that in your mind you think that you get girls, and think your "hellaflushness" get's them for you. Not sure what world you live in, but whatever. But I'm not gonna sit here and argue with you because you seem to be quite low on the IQ scale.
And I'm engaged so I could car less about getting girls by being hellaflush

I don't ride hellaflush, I more of a slammed on stock type of person myself, but to each his own.
My IQ is suprisingly high though, I'm just a smartass and find humor in everything. I don't wear my serious pants all the time.
They used to stretch the tires because that was the only way to get a lower aspect ratio. Tires used to all come in a standard 82 aspect ratio. To get less sidewall, you went with narrower tires and stretched them. It made the car even lower.
These days, you can just buy tires in whatever size you want.
Well I guess we shop at the same store for pants hahah

Curious what laws they're breaking right now besides right height laws (which many of us here are already breaking those) and tire condition laws (again, being broken by many people already as well). Not that it makes it okay for anyone to have unsafe equipment on their car, but I'm saying this is probably a very very small fraction of the people out there who do crash due to similar reasons.
Let me know when we have an epidemic of innocent bystanders dying because of people with cambered out wheels. I haven't heard of a single crash even caused by it yet.
I try not to drive near other cars anyway. Too many people don't even check their blind spots, but also too many people sit in the blind spot of others.
You don't necessarily know if that stock Camry sitting next to you on your drive home from work one night is driving on cords or not even.

so you are saying that driving on the edge of your rims with some crazy camber angle can't cause a wreck? it's called the suspension geometry being so ****ed you almost can't control your car, just because you want a look, does that give you the right to risk the lives of every other person on the road? the difference between this fad and the others is things like fugly body kits, big wings, and other crap usually don't affect the handling of the car. I don't really care what mods people do to their cars, as long as they can be driven reasonably safely, if you really think that your car looking like it has a broken control arm doesn't make it unsafe, you better wake up or find something else to be interested in. Better yet read up on how suspension geometry works and the basic theories of how a suspension works, then try to tell me this **** is safe.
I was saying that out of the people who crash due to worn out tires (which the guy who I had quoted had been talking about), very few of those people are riding hellaflush.

Hellaflush might not be safe, but I really don't think it's caused very many, if any, deaths. Cite me some articles about the people who have crashed or died due to a car with one of these suspension set ups.
Don't those hellaflush guys drive 15 mph everywhere anyways? They are probably the safest cars on the road, lol. As far as safety goes its hard to argue that making your car fast > making your car slow.

the difference is a lot of guys who make their cars fast, also want their cars to handle better, having your tires at some weird angle isn't conductive to having a car that can even go in a straight line
i've always loved the look of a lowered honda with a decent stance and ive owned several...what i dont get is why make a car practically undrivable just so it looks good parked there? ...im actually buying a set of +25 offset wheels for my hatch and yes i will be rolling the wheel arches... but does that make me hellaflush?....short answer no because after sinking the money into suspension im going to make damn sure that it is properly aligned and setup to take whatever my crazy driving self can throw at it ...i dont care if "hellaflush" destroys the scene or if the rice trend comes back or even if the next fad is pink velour interior with a steering wheel delete and fish aquariums in your wheels....at the end of the day im building mine for me to enjoy on the street/track ....SO THESE KIDS CAN HAVE ALL THE PARKING LOTS THEY WANT!...
alright enough ranting i gotta go work on my roll cage

Cars are only dangerous when they are driven. What do people do with 300 hp Hondas with racing suspensions on the street?

a 300 hp honda with a racing suspension probably handles pretty good, mainly because in a good suspension setup, you want the tire contact patch to stay in contact with the GROUND!
That's what it sounds like.
Hell, lowered cars are probably more likely to cause death to occupants in certain types of collisions due to the lowered passenger seating area, but I don't see a bunch of threads about that on here. I've also not seen any news stories regarding this as being true.
But lowered cars are fun for us all and "improve handling" (because I'm sure that's why everyone lowers a car... unless you're into hellaflush).
Even my Exedy clutch and pressure plate told me, "Do not use this clutch for racing, high performance driving, hot rodding, or any situation where engine RPMs may exceed the manufacturer's specifications for the engine. Pressure plate can explode unexpectedly causing serious injury or death to vehicle occupants and bystanders. Clutch cover and bell housing will not protect from exploding pressure plate. Always use the right clutch and pressure plate for your application."

Likewise with hellaflush cars. I'd wager that performance enthusiats get into far more accidents then people with appearance builds, even if those builds lower the handling limits of the car.
^That's proven with the amount of people that die from street racing. Not necessarily that they had high hp motors, but when you think about it. Most honda built for power aren't usually intended to be driven on a circuit type track, but more for drag racing. If you look at drag race suspension, they are usually not the greatest for taking a turn
