Default Arias pistons in backwards?

Ok i recently put a set of arias 9-1 CR pistons in my ls and i was confused about where the cut outs in the piston went, and finnaly decided that the cut out was there to unshroud the intake valve to let the air in easier, they dont need to be on the exhaust because the exhaust has pressure to force it out. then i saw this picture and was worried about it again, so look at it and tell whos right. not trying to convict him or anything just want to know if i did it right.

The easiest way to tell which is which is by the size of the vakve reliefs! The intake side has bigger reliefs!
