Anyone running Phantom Grip?
I'm keepin my eye on a Phantom Grip for a Civic on eBay. So far, it's dirt cheap. I was told that Phantom Grip's are 'OK' to use. I also heard that they seem to **** up when poorly isntalled.
I noticed some people have luck with them and some people don't. I was wondering if it's worth getting one?

seems to be variable, i have had two. one on a turbo d16 that worked well and one in a modded NA b16 that did not work well and spit out on a 8500 rpm launch despite being well installed.
it may be a little like the axle situation on NA cars where high rpm launches are phantom grip death.
but also mine was not working that well on cornering so i coughed up the money for a partstrader quaife which is now being built into my current tranny.
i would say that you may get what you pay for but if you are not using it for severe duty that you should be ok.

I'm just building an moderate N/A ZC street car with a CRX Si tranny. And it's all being dropped into my wagon, so I don't plan on drag racing much, if at all.
We have one installed in a S1 cable tranny (B16 CRX) and a Y1 LSD B16 EF hatchback. Honestly, both feel about the same around hard corners and off ramps (the circle off ramps), but I haven't really dumped the clutch on either car (both wheels do spin and hook up when you shift quickly into 2nd gear), nor have I taken it onto a road course or auto-x track to see how they feel. But daily driving, it's ok... gives more peace of mind while driving in the rain, but that might be just psychololgical

wouldnt recommed getting it. i would rather save the money and get a quaife...it will save you money in the long run. my friend had one is his car and it seemed like it wasnt working too well.... to make a long story short he ended up blowing up his tranny, there was a hole in it the size of a golfball.
