Default Anybody ever snap a quaife?

i think i snapped my differential, its a quaife lsd and after beating on the car everytime the wheels turb theres a grinding/snapping noise, the axels and clutch are both fine, it does it in neutral as well. has this happened before? I know they are really good and have lifetime warranty.

Doesn't matter, I've seen wheel bearings go within 1000miles, when they were improperly installed (too tight).

Jack up the front, and try to move the tire in an up, and down motion. If you feel play (you'll hear it click to), or if the wheel feels loose, its the bearings. YOu might want to check the axles. Sometimes the boots will looks fine, but everything inside is fubar'd. It doesn't sound like a doff problem. Normally when you snap the diff(or at least the two that I've personally seen), it blows a hole through the case, and tranny fluid goes everywhere. And if you try to drive the car, it won't go anywhere, and you can shift gears while sitting still. The speedo climbs, and the car is stationary. It might not be like that everytime, but my friend has blown his LS trans diff like 3 times, and this happened everytime.

Wierd. I have never had an issue when sending in a quaife unit for inspection/repair.

Glad you got your car back on the road.
