Thats what i meant it might break down the deposits around rings and open up more holes for oil to go through

Seafoam is an excellent cleaning product. It does not damage the engine, it simply reveals internal engine faults that are hidden by sludge and other build up that is typically found in a poor maintained engine. There is absolutely no way it will damage oil control rings. Period.
