Any one know how to do so block work?
Does any one how to put in piston, ring, ext. pics would be nice. Or is there a tread on how to do block work. I blow out one of my piston on my b18c block. I'm running turbo in my civic and what to crank up my boost. Any suggestion on what I should get for the block. Any help I will appreciate. Thanks everyone!
I rebuilt automatic trany for a living. Just like to learn more about how to do engine work. I've done all the work on my ride myself (engine swap, turbo, etc.). I like working on my civic and always want to learn more about it. If a problem is in front of me, I don't give it to someone els to deal with it. I try to get info and do it myself. If you or anyone out there can help I would appreciated.
Thnxs Jeff for that wonderful write up. Do you have an e-mail or something I can get if I have any question. Can I get your write up on the k20 swap when you are done with it. Thanks again for that grate write up.

Yea...well if you want to boost more I would suggest sleeving your block but I didnt when I ran t3-t04e turbo on my lsvtec. I ran 15psi and it worked fine. But safe is better than sorry u feel? First to put a piston ring on a piston read the directions on the box that the rings came in
There are the top two rings that are thicker.
top is the tickest
the next one down is a little thinner and under that is the oil rings
its two really thin rings and a wavy ring thing inbetween. Just look on some old pistons.
you can put all the rings on by hand but i would suggest buying a ring expander or whatever its called from sears or something for the top rings. (dont want to scratch the skirts)
Put the bottom oil rings on work your way bottom to top. Scatter the rings so the gaps arent all lined up. IF you leave them all lined up your compression wont hold or it will leak. (***thats not good. lol)
To put the pistons in..You will need a ring compressor which is 10 bucks from sears. What you do is. Put a little engine oil on the rings. put it in the ring compressor and tighten it up. Before you put it in the cylinder hole.. clean out with a dry shop towel then with a shop towel with oil on it. stick the piston down in the hole and tap with a rubber end of a hammer or such from the top of the piston. For the rods, I would stick a piece of rubber tubing on the rods bolts so they wont scratch your crank. A cracked or chipped crank =

I have a 8 step video how to do this. I could burn you a copy but i would need money for shipping and the dvd cd. ITs a great dvd.
