Default Another gear grinding thread but with a difference

I replaced the clutch in my JDM Integra SiVTEC tranny (Y80) about a month ago, with a new ITR clutch kit straight from honda. Since fitting it I've developed two problems, which were apparent immediately.

1. In the morning when the car is stone cold having been sat up all night, and i start to drive, 99 times out of 100 i have to force it into second gear from first. This is not done at high revs but when coasting down my drive way at less tahn 10mph. Once the engine/tranny has warmed up it slips in and out of 2nd gear without any problem.

2. I used to get grinding from 3rd to 4th gear at high revs (above 5500rpm) but it mysteriously disappeared (tranny fluid wasnt changed) it just stopped doing it, so i was happy Then after it stopped doing it i changed my tranny fluid and 3rd to 4th remained sweet. Then i get my clutch changed and now it grinds at anything above 3k rpm!!

Could anyone lay some insight into why these problems started happening on replacement of my clutch, could it be mis-aligned (I only bought the p/p clutch cover and release bearing) so i dont know if an alignment tool was used by the mechanic fitting it, could this be the problem??? The 4th gear grinding doesnt bother me as i just think its a return of whatever was going on before, but the problem getting 2nd when cold really bugs me.......any idea/help greatly appreciated

its not the clutch. It is either aligned or its not. It wouldnt cause any grinding. I would say if it falls out of gear its the syncro's but im not positive. Are you shure you got a brand new tranny? It sounds like its shot to me.

Yeah I agree with the guy above.....I think it would be a synchro/sleeve for not be able to getting into 2nd, etc. One of my old trannies wouldn't go into 4th and I opened her up and the synchro sleeve going into 4th was fu@ked up.

the tranny is the original Y80 tranny, its the clutch that i replaced. It has never fell out of gear either, its just difficult to get into 2nd when cold and grinds going into 4th at any rev range.
