Default Alternator Help

Ok, looking for some help. My friend's got a 93 Civic DX with a bad alternator. I figured NP, alternators are easy. Get over there, get the electrical connection off, get the top bolt off. The bottom bolt, however, is like a 1 inch square bolt. The other side is just threads?? WTF? Doesn't budge, can't hammer it out, and the alternator bracket bolts underneath are stripped? Anyone got any pics of what to do, any help would be much appreciated! Thanksd in advance

Sounds like it's seized in there pretty good, I use a brass drift to beat them out when they're stuck like that.

Wait, so how does that bottom bolt come out? Once its loose does the alternator pivot? It doesn't look like theres a nut that goes over it, just a washer. Is that big washer looking thing the nut? Thanks!

Could you use a punch and punch the bolt out? From left to right on that last pic?

Remove the 12mm nut on the adjuster bracket (On top). Then remove the 14mm nut on the lower bracket and remove the belt.

To get the lower bolt out, I would take a pry bar to the square end of the bolt and pry it out as far as possible. Then I would just pivot the alternator back a forth while pulling on the pin. You could also try hitting the bottom of the alternator with a hammer to try an loosen that bolt up.
