All gears having problems, happened suddenly?
Tranny problem w/my 96 GSR, 76K miles, original clutch, flywheel, pp,
stock shifter, polyurethane shifter and endlink bushings, fluid changed
regularly w/Honda MTF (perhaps 10K since last change).
Car drove fine last night as always, gear shifts were snick-snick. Before
I pulled into my neighborhood I ran it to 3rd gear. Stopped to turn into
the neighborhood, and noticed that the clutch was chattering when I started
moving.
Coming to a turn, I revmatch downshift to 2nd gear. It resisted. Pulling
up into the driveway the clutch chattered again in 1st.
This morning going to work all the gears showing noticeable resistance.
Any downshifting from an upper gear is difficult. I had to shift at
granny speeds to get it into gear. If I shifted at normal speeds it would
grind. ALL of them. I eventually turned around and headed home, double
clutching seems to help it a little.
Fluid level is fine.
I don't abuse the tranny, I shift quickly, but not harshly, but only when
I'm fun driving. Normally I shift normally. Those 76K miles are mainly
highway...the clutch still had good life in in judging from how it drove
until last night.

Much TIA

Sounds like the clutch is no longer engaging and dis-engaging properly. Due to adjustment or breakage of some kind. Is there any differance in the pedal feel or sound that you noticed?

Clutch feels normal. It's a hydraulic clutch.
I'm suspecting now that it may be leaking fluid from the slave cylinder...

i have the same problem with my s20 tranny. swapped the tranny with another one, bled the system, changed slave cylinders but the problem didnt go away.
Is it a new clutch or OEM w/some age?
I did some research and it turns out that some B series clutches have problems with springs popping loose, causing the poor shifting.
I just ordered a clutch specialties unsprung disc.

mine was doing the exact same thing............the friction disc spring retainer broke causing chattering and very hard gear engagment.......
time to replace it..............Exedy organic is a good choice
