Has anyone here used alcohol injection? I have seen it used on turboed domestics, but never on an import. I am interested in doing it to my Honda once I turbo it. Any tips, tricks, or techniques?

friend of mine has used alcohol on his turbo set-up. he had a bone stock 96 Integra GSR engine... haltech management system. not a guru or anything here but just sharing what i know

somethings he had to do since it was running on alcohol:
-size of injector is double .. so say you would normally run 550cc injectors on the car - when you go with alco injection you would run 1100 or 1200cc ones
-big high flow fuel pump - he used a Weldon pump [don't know what flow rate tho but i know the pump was like $800!!!]
-alco after awhile corrodes rubber seals - so after every driving/racing session its good to flush out the fuel system so when the car is stored away the remaining alco won't eat the seals
-oil changes must be done more often

good luck with it! try askin some V8 guys about it they'll school you on alcohol! hehe

 

Hey, i appreciate the info and the reply. However, I was talking about Alochol Injection. Not straight alcohol. I have experiance with a local shop and we ran nitro/alochol through a built Civic also. Pretty cool.

What I am looking for is setting up something like an NOS system, but using alcohol to help cool the intake charge. Guys do it on GN's all the time. Just trying to see if anyone has run it on a Honda.
