who runs a stock fuel pump with their turbo setup?
just curious, i've heard a good number of bad things about the walbro fuel pumps lately so i'm having second thoughts about upgrading. who runs a stock fuel pump with a turbo car? what is your setup? do you think it is ok for me to run my stock fuel pump in a 93 coupe with 146,000 miles on it with a b16 with either 440cc or 550cc injectors with uberdata? let me know what you guys run.

Why the hell would you think bad things about walbros? They're bosch pumps, AKA OEM for lots of expensive cars.

For those size injectors, at stock fuel pressure, you wont need to upgrade your fuel pump. Change your fuel filter though.

get the walbro pump. Your stock one is probably old so you might as well replace it.

I used a stock one for about 15k miles at around 180-200 whp. It had over 300k on it so I threw in a 255 for insurance when i upped the boost.

I ran for 2 years with a T-25 on my ZC boosting 12psi. Zdyne with DSM 450's and I had no problems with my 91 CRX pump.
People often forget that the stock pump flows fairly well and will support probubly about 250-300hp. Especially the GSR pumps.

Re: (RotiEatter)
yeah i've heard of regular maintenence just havnt gotten around to that part of it yet. i know its good insurance but there was a thread a couple weeks ago with people saying that they've had them fail on them a bunch of times like RotiEatter said, i just dont want to fork out 90 bucks and have it fail on me. thats why i was asking if people think i should upgrade it. i plan on making around 250 whp with my setup. the fuel filter will be replaced soon but just curious if a pump upgrade was necessary or if you guys thought so.

I wanna get 325 out of the stocker, the whole unit including the gas tank is new</TD></TR></TABLE>
It does, since the BSFC is going to be different between the two, but most likely it won't be that much.
IMO, I would upgrade to the walbro unit if I were you. 325 might be pushing it's limits. It's always good to have more pump that what you actually need. But then again, if your setup is fairly efficient, you might be able to get away with that power no sweat.
