Air Intakes????
Hey Guys,
Ive been told that the shorter an air intake pipe is or the closer the air filter is to the intake manifold the better it works is this true?
Im in the process of putting a new system on my 93 civic sir sedan and was wondering if there is better airflow with the filter under the front guard/bumper or do i get better performance with the shorter pipe????

The longer piping that reaches down near the front bumper/wheel well, is called a CAI or Cold air intake. The shorter one that you see atop the engine with the smaller arm is called a Short Ram intake (If I remember.) CAI is obviously better, I think , there are a million topics of CAI Vs. Short Ram. With the CAI you run the risk of hydro locking your engine. A very bad thing.
