>POLL Cold Air Intake or Short Ram Intake
I currently am ordering a Ebay CAI, but the pipe is split into two i can make it SRI and CAI.
and im doing a poll, because i want to know which is better and why. SRI is good for wetter weather, and CAI is meant to suck up water.ETC.
But, what will make more power? CAI OR SRI?

Re: >POLL Cold Air Intake or Short Ram Intake
CAI, the cooler the air charge is entering the engine the more dense it is which is what you want!
Also the longer the intake is the more velocity the air has entering the engine and thus helping volumetric efficiency = more power.
You obviously can't make it to long or to big of a piping diameter, the narroer piping helps out with velocity speed, if it's to big you'll loose velocity (there's a balance as with everything LOL) There's a reason all motor guys run a long intake tube with a velocity stack! It works. I've actually seen an 11hp gain on the chassis dyno from a SRI with a filter and a long CAI with a velocity stack on the end.
Hope that helps a bit.

Ooo ill try the CAI with velocity stack.
BTW, does injen hydrashield (hydrashield covers in general) covers work to help resist water. did anyone used it in case it rained?

Short ram w/ vstack made the most power on the dyno. I had unlimited dyno pulls and was bored we tried everything. Started off with AEM 3" cold air intake with the Vstack, then switched it to short ram with Vstack and made 2-3 more HP through out the power band from mid to high. We even ran it again with an extension that you couldn't run on the street and still didn't make more power than the short ram.

On a dyno it is differenant than on the street. The CAI on the street will be exposed to cooler air. On a dyno, both are sucking in the same temperature air because you're not getting a 60mph blast of air coming at the car. Now, a GSR intake with a V-stack connected on the bottom and sticking out the front of the car...that's probably ideal. Cool air, a V-stack, good filtering and a slight ram air effect.
