Air fuel gauge issue
Guys, i'm having a small issue.
I recently made a swap and had to go from OBD1 to pre OBD set up. The problem is, the pre OBD set up carries two O2 sensors in the manifold (each have one wire). I tried hooking up the air fuel gauge to the primary O2 sensor but the gauge is receiving no signal, so i tried it with the secondary O2 and "nada" don't work either.
How the hell do i wire this thing?
It worked fine with my OBD 1 set up (single 4 wire sensor)

Splice into the sensor on the engine side. About a foot or 2 away from the sensor. Solder all conections. Also make sure you have a good ground and power source. I have no problems with mine PR3 (OBD 0).
The gauge turns on perfect but no signal. I grabed the signal from the ecu side. Why would it differ if i grabed it from the engine bay or ecu side? Thats weird

Thats how I have mine rigged. Hows it turn on with no signal? On a 1 wire O2 the sensors must be close to the OME location. It uses heat generated by the exhaust to heat the sensor and when it gets hot it reads A/f ratio. A 4 wire acually heats itself. I don't know where you have them placed on the header. Anyway there are suposed to be where the primaries merge into the secondaries. Which is fairly close to the head. Also it take a few minuites for them to get hot. Then when the engine is warm it will come off full rich and read accurately. HTH
Ok, you were right. I let the **** sit for about 15 minutes and THEN it started reading.
Man, the OBD1 set up doensn't take that long! lol the self heating does make a big diffrence i guess.
Thanks!
