Default Air Fuel gauge

Hey, Im puting an Autometer A/F gauge in my 1993 Civic with a JDM B16A in it well I got the power and ground hooked up good but when I touch the Wire to the O2 Sensor wire to hook it up the Gauge shuts off? but when I take it off it powers back on can I get some help please!!

The gauge takes the signal from your O2 sensor. But your O2 sensor will only make a reading after the engine is running, and warms up. So, it's possible it is working, there is just no readable signal. Make sense?

Yeah it was running but my friend with his started his up cold engine made a reading

hooking it up to the correct wire? I'm assuming you dont have a wideband......?

Nope just a plain old Autometer AF and yes I tryed the White Wire on the O2 then the Green same thing oh yeah forgot to mention Im running a stock p28 ECU with a JDM B16 with Type R Internals P&P head Bored Throttle Body cai headers exhaust maybe the dang ECU could be the problem?
