Default Air in coolant line

I having air come into my coolant lines, changed thermostat and rad cap ....anyone no the problem? LS motor

were your thermostat is there is a little bolt that u can un-srew and it will let the air out..jus like when u blead a brake system...so try that

no , just air is in the lines everytime, regaurdless whether i am boosting or at idle and when i stwist the rad cap is just pshhhhhhh with air

That is very strange, have you checked the exhaust to see if it is burning coolant? It is a closed system (normally) so, the coolant has to be going somewhere to let the air in. Check your oil for coolant as well. How long has it been doing this? I would suggest checking the heater core, or around the HVAC box for coolant if it has just started happening recently.

I am assuming you top it off when it is cold and it loses the coolant after it has run for a while? That is a pretty serious problem, as cavitation can really screw up soft aluminum engines.

With engine cold, heater control to full hot (fan is NOT on though) and the radiator cap off, start the car.

Allow it to idle till the cooling fan kicks on/off. Install radiator cap.

On 6th gen Civic's (what I have), there isn't a bleeder bolt located on the thermostat like some earlier models, so I have no input on it.

check around the passenger floor board and see if its wet if it is then your heater core is leakin....like some1 else said it is usually a closed system but somewhere air is gettin in....check your oil as well as you exhaust and see if water is in them

Thank you guys, seemed to be a bad head gasket and the head was warped 2cm off, had it sent to the machine shop everything is running pretty smooth thank again
