Default aem vs haltek

i had my mind set on the haltek and a diy02 wideband with my turbo gsr setup but now my friend comes up to me and says that everyones saying the aem is better 1 because is easier to use and 2 their saying you have to custom wire the whole harness is this true or is it plug in ????

The AEM is plug and play, the Haltech requires a lot of custom wiring. Also I don't know anyone who's used their new Windows interface yet, the old DOS version was a pain in the *** though. AEM is proven at this point to work well on FI Hondas and now has the autotune feature when used with a wideband 02, I don't see why you'd want to experiment with an Australian ECU when you can get something stateside that works great too. Plus you will have plenty of fnished tunes available for download from other users with similar setups.

Yes absolutely, it's not an OBD ECU. Also do you know about the auto-tune feature?

The guys over at AEM are very helpful with tuning the setup, you can call them all day long and get input on the setup. I also have a source for these that can get them for around $1300, if you're interested. that plus the DIY (AEM is also coming out with their own inexpsenive wideband specifically for the EMS) is a powerful and reliable setup IMO.
