Adding a crank fluxuation sensor onto a OBD1 block
Alright, due to emissions requirements in my state I must convert my car back to OBD1. I'll start off by telling you whats done to the car. I have a 97 civic and I swapped in a OBD1 B16A2. During the swap I wasn't worried about running OBD2 so I used a conversion harness and ran the supplied OBD1 ECU.
Now comes time to get my emissions all settled so I need to convert back to OBD2. I've searched and found that I would first need to install a oil pump on the block that has the mounting points and crank fluxuation sensor already installed. This is fine but what some people say is that the cranks have a special disk the crank fluxuation sensor reads off of. I was wondering if this was true or not.
If anyone has ever installed an oil pump with a crank fluxuation sensor on it, please reply. Thanks

Ohh cool, So all I would really need to do is get the new pump and sensor and install it. Other then adding all the other miscelaneous sensors for OBD2 to get it running correctly.
You're refering to the crankshaft timing belt gear, correct? If so yes it has to be changed, your current OBDI one doesn't have the magnetic pickups that the CKFS needs to read.
