Default ABS Prop Valve?

On my EG4 (front 242mm, rear drums) I just swapped DC2 GSR Rear Brakes onto it with hand brake level etc.

I also just swapped JDM ITR Brake Booster and MC. Pedal feel is really really good.

However, I wasn't able to put the 40/40 prop valve on because my EG4 is non-ABS but the DC2 is. Is there a different part number for the non-ABS 40/40 brake proportional valve?

So I suppose that's 2 questions:
1. Consequences of NOT installing prop valve?
2. Part number non-abs 40/40?

Thanks,
Matt

First off, its not 40/40. Its 4040 and those numbers have no relation to the proportioning of the valve.

Second, the 4040 is what you need to complete the swap, it is found on RS Model DC's, or you can use the valve found in 99-00 Civic SI 3dr's

I have the 4040 prop vale from my GSR, but I couldn't use it because it's ABS.

Do I have to get a non-ABS version for my EG4?

I was not aware the OEM GSR valve was stamped 4040 also, you need the valve out of the DC RS or 99-00 SI, it will have 6 ports instead of the 4 on the valve you have now.

Just out of curiosity, would it be beneficial to use an ABS prop valve when performing the same swap onto a car with ABS and rear drums(96-00 EX Civic)? I did a rear disc swap years ago, and was never really sure if I needed a different prop valve.

I think the 4040 is only required when you run an Teg Booster/Cyl and/or the larger DC brakes.
